Breathe in the direction you desire to lean into.

The way we move through our morning, including what we give our attention to, what we direct our energy toward and where we place our point of power affects our mood as we move through the entire day.

Another way to be deliberate with our focus in the morning (or at any time) is to feel into the direction you desire to lean into;

  • Knowing deeper truth about your own self, community and world or less?
  • Contributing (in your own divine way) to greater harmony, resonance and connectedness with your inner being and what really matters to you or turning away from that? (In case you need to hear it, your contribution can look like and feel like whatever feels best to you. There is no cookie-cutter appearance or rule of measure for this).
  • Breathing in the highest vision your heart holds for your life, inner circle and family of humanity or holding your breath in doubt and fear?

Breathe in the direction you truly desire to lean into.

If you want to. It’s possible. I see you.

Breathe our everything else.

The Lion’s Gate Portal is an annual cosmic alignment that occurs from June 26 until August 12, with the peak of its creative and fiery energies being on 8/8.

This is a time when the Sun (while in the sign of Leo) rises above our horizon hot on the tail of the star Sirius (also known as our Spiritual Sun). 

What does that mean for you?

It’s an invitation to deliberately tune into your intuition, to hold steady to your highest visions and allow the divine power of your heart to flow through you + be what moves you.

To assist you in exploring this further, here are a few prompts for your notebook or art journal:

– What are you truly feeling about yourself?

– What are you truly feeling about your reality in this moment?

– What connection are you noticing between the two?

– If you allowed yourself to imagine your highest vision for yourself and the world, what would that look and/or feel like to you?

– Where are you placing your power right now, and how does that feel to you?

– What message does your heart have for you?

Even though we can connect to these energies at any time, this weekend is a divine time to be mindful of your intuition, the truth within your heart and your point of power.

May you know you are a change-maker. You sovereign being, you.

I felt the impulse to create a collage for today. When I sat down with my scissors, glue and collection of magazines, images jumped out as they always do.

However each time I went to put the pieces together it somehow wasn’t “it”.

So I got up, put on some J Lo, had a dance in my studio and then sat down to see what would flow out.

And out it flowed with ease.

A reminder to self, when we feel stuck or a block on some level, move your physical body.

Do what feels soothing to you in the moment, it might be stretching, jumping or walking on the spot. Perhaps it shows up as a desire to swing your arms around the sides of your torso several times or see you get on the floor and put your legs up the wall.

Moving our body is one way to move where our mind + emotions + vibe are at too.

As the saying goes; Change one thing and everything changes.

Darkness and light + a heart soothing practice.

The lightening in Sydney last night was something.

There were flashes so massive it lit up the entire sky like it was midday.

The storm also brought more wind and rain (weather map below) and as I went to turn off all my wall sockets, we got another blackout. 

When I went to bed I felt too awake to sleep.

A favourite practice of mine during times like that that helps me sleep is to place one of my hands over my heart chakra, palm open and breathe.

Focusing on this energy centre, connecting to its power from within.

Knowing my heart is connected to the heart of all things that matter to me, including Mama Earth and the Universe.

When our heart chakra is in harmony it radiates a feeling of safe space, room to breathe and unconditional love. It ripples out a soothing frequency that reminds the self you have permission to feel what you feel.

I awoke feeling thankful the power has now been restored again, relief that morning is here and ready to make some belly-warming porridge to start my day.

When your fridge keeps tripping the breaker, sip spice tea.

Ah yes, after 6 days without power, power was restored as the beloved planet Mercury was in shadow in preparation of its retrograde journey.

Meaning from our earthly perspective this planet of all things communications and technology appears to slow down, come to a stand still and shift into reverse gear for around three weeks.

Which can show up as text messages not going through, important emails landing in the spam folder or not arriving at all, misunderstandings, computers or cell phones not working, calls cutting out and appliances misbehaving.

Like my fridge, in the past few days since power was restored, it’s been randomly beeping and has turned the breaker off (the switch thingy in the electrical box) a few times.

And timing (or sense of time) can go out the window too, like running late for one thing or showing up super early for something else.

And for all of this Mercury often gets a bad rap.

But, it’s quite the connections caretaker really.

Its vibes assist to check, double check and triple check + check in with your verbal words, written documents and inner dialogue. To review and backup photos and files. It also reminds the self it’s okay to say “Not yet” when it comes to making, signing or agreeing to any new commitments or contracts.

It can see frustration rise or be a time to practice being calm and staying grounded when things are playing up.

For me brewing a cup of spice tea is assisting me in this department + along with a piece (or three!) of homemade raw vegan snickers slice (thanks to Wholefood Simply’s delish recipe, it’s a winner in my casa every time).

Yes and yum.

And this would be my afternoon tea guest…
